Advertised as the “MPC Killer” at one point, Maschine brought pad-based programming kicking and screaming into the 21st century- Many producers including hitmaker and current DefJam Exec- NO I.D, Big Pun beatsmith, Domingo as well as a certain unnamed noted Electronic Music/beat composer (uhhmm) were happy to see the long imagined hybridity of software and hardware merging- Though MPC/Akai had included USB connectivity early via their MESA interfaces, the leap to full blown interactivity was slow at best- Ableton Live producers had a small taste of triggered programming via the APC units but the lacking pad and velocity dynamic was a bummer for some (self included)-
Filling this void, Maschine came through with a feature packed kit- Armed with the best effect & sample presets in the business. Maschine has been a game changer but then along came the MPC RENAISSANCE

Is this the ETHER- (insert batman sound effect)- More Soon
At long last, I am happy to share some new material from the forthcoming release BLACK GOLIATH- The experience of creating these compositions was one that I particularly enjoyed because I had the opportunity to pull out the stops- The ARP 2600, The Moog Liberation, Maschine and more – Inspired by my heroes, Herbie Hancock, Larry Smith and Marley Marl, as well my contemporary beat heads, Black Goliath is the sum of my parts. Hope you enjoy it !!! Here is the lead single “What Happened to Yesterday” . More to come soon. All the best – Prizm Foundation
Hellfyre Club/Alphapup presents Open Mike Eagle’s “Nightmares”
Stacking Doo Wop harmonies over downtempo programmed breaks, Open Mike Eagle comes thru with “Nightmares” from his recent LP “Rappers will die of Natural Causes”- Paying homage without being derivative, Open Mike represents a new generation of west coast (via Chicago) lyricism-
In seeing the support from director/actor Jon Faverau in the Iron Man series, one would think things were all good. Though reported scenes with Ghostface Killer lay on the cutting room floor, several “Starks” references and interludes peppered the blockbuster Marvel franchise.
Unfortunately Jack Urbont (Iron man theme song composer) from the 60′s classic Marvel Men‘ animated series is singing a different tune. Urbont is launching a multi claimant lawsuits against Ghost (Dennis Coles) as well as the Sony Music Group
